Logitech Audiostation Express

I was tired of listening to my laptop speakers when I was using the laptop in my bedroom. I researched a wireless speaker solution and was able to find a good deal on the Apple Airport Express and the Logitech Audiostation Express. The Logitech Audiostation Express had received pretty good reviews and it was reasonably priced. I wasn’t looking for anything fancy, as I don’t do too much work on my laptop in that room, but I did want something that was an upgrade to the built-speakers.
I was able to pick up the Audiostation Express for around $100 on sale. It comes with the speaker unit, iPod dock adapters, a remote, AC adaptor, and a case for travel. The unit is relatively compact and offers audio input and composite video output for watching videos from an iPod. I have yet to use it with my iPod, since I had not purchased it for that intention. Since it can be powered by battery, I may bring it with me when I travel, but I have yet to decide that.
Overall, sound quality is decent. For a hundred bucks, it sounds good, but it’s nothing close to audiophile quality by far. That’s not the market of the unit and that’s not what I expected from it. To be honest, it’s everything I had expected and it does the job. I’ve used some of the other Logitech speaker products and they seem to be adequate for my uses. For those looking for a similar application, or for a portable speaker for the iPod I would recommend the Logitech Audiostation Express.
