Belkin PureAV PF30

After purchasing gadgets for both home and portable use, protecting my investments became a top priority. Power was always a concern for my computer and my home audio/video equipment as well as any portable devices such as iPods, which I charge on a daily basis. I figured I was spending a lot of money so it was a good idea to prevent. I looked into UPS units for my servers to maximize uptime. With the same concept in mind, I wanted power regulation for my home audio unit. The equipment was worth protecting, but I figured I didn’t need uptime like I did on my computers so a unit with power filtering and regulation would be sufficient. I have always had pretty good luck with Belkin products as well as Monster products, but I felt I was getting more for my money with the Belkin unit. I chose the Belkin PureAV Home Theater Power Console PF30. It was much more reasonable than a comparable Monster unit.
For what it’s worth, I don’t really know for sure if the Belkin PureAV Home Theater Power Console PF30 is doing what it advertises, but I haven’t had any problems with it. It has a decent protection plan and it covers the dollar amount of all the equipment in my home unit. It has 8 outlets some outlets that are always one some that are connected to the power switch. I have the following connected to the unit: a Samsung HL-R4667W TV, a Motorola Cable Box, a Sony Reciever, a Mac Mini, and a Netgear WGPS606 wireless bridge. I still have space for three more items and I will probably add an HD-upconversion DVD player and a new game system such as an Xbox 360 or PS3 to finish off the unit. For the most part the Belkin PureAV Home Theater Power Console PF30 seems to work.
One thing I don’t necessarily like about the unit is that the outlets are spaced closely together. Usually in home audio there aren’t too many large power bricks to plug in, but since I have a mixture of computing equipment and home audio/video products the power bricks tend to cover another outlet. That was the only thing I really felt was wrong with the unit.
The Belkin PureAV Home Theater Power Console PF30 is an affordable solution for home audio/video power needs. The warranty covers most midrange level equipment. The amount of power that it can handle seems to be sufficient. It also has Ethernet and cable regulation and as with the power outlets I assume they work as advertised. I think it is worth the investment if you are interested in protecting your other home audio/video investments.
