Sennheiser HD202

Posted on December 17th, 2005 by Brandon Quintana in headphones

I own a few iPods and a laptop and find myself traveling a lot around California. For everyday use, I normally use a pair of iPod earbuds, which I have to say aren’t that great, but I can get by with them or I use a pair of Sony MDR-EX71SL in white. The Sony earbuds sound much better than the iPod earbuds and can be picked up online for around $30. Those are my everyday headphones due to the fact that they’re small and easy to carry around so it makes it much more convenient. In any case, almost any set of over the ear headphones sound better than some of the best earbuds but for the price and the quality of the Sennheiser HD-202, it’s a definite recommendation.

Since I don’t find myself at home that often I use the over the ear headphones every once in a while. I keep it plugged into my laptop and use them sometimes with my iPods. I was able to pick them up for around $30 at a local Magnolia store. It comes with a pretty long cord, which is convenient if you plan to use them with a desktop computer that sits on the floor or for your entertainment unit. It also comes with a piece of plastic to wrap the cord around to shorten its length. The unit has padding on the earpieces as well as the top and I find that I can wear them comfortably for long periods of time. As far as sound quality I enjoy quality sound, but would consider myself far from an audiophile. To the Average Joe like me, I found that the amount of bass and highs were adequate. Clarity could be a little better, but like I said earlier they only run about $30. For the most part in this industry, you get what you pay for and on that note, the Sennheiser HD-202 is worth every penny.
